9 June 2025 - Laurel and Hardy

Another reader suggestion - Laurel and Hardy! I have seen the odd film or short, I remembered the delivery of a piano going upstairs. That was funny, but both the shorts and the films have been laugh out loud funny. The episode where Oliver Hardy is in hospital and Stan visits him with boiled eggs and nuts is simply a classic.

Having watched quite a bit of Laurel and Hardy, my thoughts are that this is without doubt the most successful comedy duo ever. I don't think there is any competition at all. Not only were the content outstanding, but it was slso clear that these two men actually got on really well, and I think that is the secret to their success. It was more than just a business partnership, it was friendship.
